Jamie Maugans was one of the kindest, most gentle hearted people on the planet. A U.S. Soldier killed in an accidental ordinance explosion in Afghanistan on April 15, 2002, Jamie was a hero to everyone around him. Jamie joined the Army and EOD in 1997 not only because he "liked blowing shit up" but also because he knew what he was doing was saving lives. 

His tragic death affected everyone he ever knew and many of those from his home town of Derby, Kansas in a way that is very hard to describe and very difficult to deal with. This website is dedicated to his memory and maintained by his some of his closest friends. Our hearts and best wishes go out to Jamie's family and to the families of other Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines who have died preserving our freedom.
